There are two types of large boiler – water-tube
boilers and shell boilers. Both types of design have been developed in line with
market demands, but their requirement profiles are very different. The
differences are explained in detail in a specialist article entitled
"Boiler
Technology".
LOOS INTERNATIONAL builds a large boiler using the tried and tested three-pass
principle. The offer a large boiler as a single flame-tube or a double
flame-tube boiler for steam production capacities up to 55,000 kg/h and for hot
water generation up to 38,000 kW. The various large boiler plants are
manufactured in all pressure stages and for all fuels and can be fitted if
required with heat recovery systems to improve efficiency for all technical
heating processes.
Large boiler plants are used wherever hot water or steam of a consistently high
quality is required. A large boiler in the form of a shell boiler always has a
sufficient stock of steam, even during sudden usage peaks.
LOOS INTERNATIONAL is one of the leading manufacturers of large boiler plants in
Germany and has supplied above 100,000 boiler systems to more than 140 countries
throughout the world since the company was founded in 1865.
